I first knew alpaca fiber would be great for pet beds when my dog, Grace, kept sleeping on the fiber I had drying on the floor. She knew where the warmest spot in the room was.
These beds have an outer cover which is removable and can go in the washing machine. The fabrics available are shown below. I re-use drapes for the inner pillow. It's just another way to be environmentally friendly. If anyone in your house is allergic to hay, they may become irritated by the beds. The fiber is washed, but the hay is not picked out. I don't have a hay allergy, so I can't tell you have serious this would be.
